What is a Shrub?
Shrub is a vinegar preserve, infused with fresh fruit and herbs. At Shrub Farm we use local organic fruit and herbs; organic raw apple cider vinegar, organic cane sugar and honey.
The name Shrub is derived from the Arabic word sharab, which means “to drink”. It was popularized in the American colonial-era. Shrubs are the perfect craft soda or cocktail mixer.
Mixing 1 part shrub to 10 parts still or sparkling water is the perfect refresher. Check out our recipes page for some sweet and savory ideas.
Are these Shrubs gluten free?
100% gluten free.
Do you use G.M.O.?

Our Shrubs are 100% vegetarian.
Why do you drink Shrub?
It tastes great and is super refreshing! I love the flavor of real whole fruit and the balanced tartness. I also appreciate the fact that it is loaded with enzymes, vitamins and a living culture (the Mother of Vinegar). The Mother of Vinegar bacteria may help support digestion and having a healthy digestion can have a huge effect on your overall health and the way you feel.
How do you use Shrub?

We have built relationships with our farming community and support them directly. Direct support helps our farmers sustain, nurture and better protect their land and way of life.
All of our vinegar comes Organic farmers in Washington state. Organic agriculture practices contribute to healthier land and ocean ecosystem.
How potent is your Shrub?
Our Shrub Farm Shrub is the strongest on the market! The Apple Cider Vinegar that we use for our preserve is a 6% acidic acid vinegar. This is 20% stronger than most store bought vinegars. One of our 16oz bottles will make 32 8oz drinks.
What are the ingredients?
Whole organic fruit and herbs; organic raw Washington State apple cider vinegar, organic cane sugar and honey. (The only fruit that we use that is not organic are our Maui Gold Pineapples)
Can kids drink Shrub?
Kids love Shrub. It is the perfect alternative to super sweet soda pop.
It is also packed full of vitamins and enzymes from whole fruit and the mother of vinegar, a living culture.

How long does Shrub last?
The “best by date” is 2 years from the bottling date. However if left in a cool dark place they can last even longer. We have never seen a good Shrub go bad. Refrigeration recommended after opening.
Is the Mother of Vinegar alive?
Yes she is!
What is the Mother of Vinegar?
The mother of vinegar is a living culture made up of acidic acid bacteria.
Almost every animal on earth is dependent on bacteria to survive. Only bacteria contain the special genes and enzymes essential to synthesize vitamin B12.

What are the nutritional facts?
In an 8oz serving; 1/2oz Shrub with Ice and water there are approximately 6-8 grams of Sugar, 6-8 grams of carbs and 25-35 calories.
Is there alcohol in your Shrub?
